1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
6 cups of puffed rice cereal

Licorice straps for the arms
Glitter icing in red and silver - ready-made
To Make Your Snowman
Melt the butter over a low heat in a large saucepan. Once it's melted, add the marshmallows, and stir until melted.
Add the rice cereal and mix well.
Let the mixture partially cool (until it can be formed into shapes without sticking too much to your buttered hands), then form it into a tall mound for the snowman's body and a ball for his head. Don't put the head onto the body yet. Make holes in the body for the licorice stick arms, but remove the arms again (otherwise they will sag). Place the head and body on non-stick paper in the fridge for one hour to fully cool and harden.
Put the snowman's body on a plate and insert the licorice stick arms. Stick the head onto the body with white chocolate icing.
Stick on the icecream cone hat with icing too. Tie the candy strap around his neck for a scarf.
Before decoraing your snowman, have a look at the close-up snowman picture below. Stick small pieces of candy on with icing for the eyes, nose, and buttons, and around the hat.
For the mouth, first make a smile in white chocolate icing to provide a flat base for the red icing. Squeeze red glitter icing over the top in a wide smile.
Squeeze silver glitter icing onto the icecream cone and the scarf in the shape of snowflakes.
Think of other ways to decorate your snowman. You could use striped candy canes for a Christmas snowman. It would make a wonderful centerpiece for the table.
How about making other creatures using the same mixture. Try making a reindeer or an angel.
