Picture Frame Craft Decorate Your own Picture or Mirror Frame
Here's a fun mirror or picture frame craft. We've decorated mirror frames, but you could also decorate picture frames to suit the theme of your pictures. Let the kids be creative and do their own thing! Have a look at our pictures below for more ideas.
Try decorating a mirror with your child and hang it at their height in their bedroom. You'll be amazed at thow much they'll use it to keep themselves tidy, especially if you attach a small basket (see bottom of this page) just below it for hair brushes and clips.
What You'll Need for Your Frame
A mirror frame or picture-frame
Acrylic paint
Clear craft glue
Decorations such as self-adhesive craft foam, pompoms, plastic eyes, stickers and chenille sticks or pipecleaners.
How to Decorate Your Frame
Push newspaper under the edges of your frame to protect the mirror, or else remove the mirror from its frame.
Look at your decorations and decide on a color scheme. A maximum of two or three colours usually look good together, or you could try several shades of one color.
Paint your frame in the color you've chosen. Apply two more coats of paint. Let it dry after each coat.
Now arrange the decorations on your frame. You could also stick some on the mirror surface, but don't cover too much of it!
Glue or stick your decorations on. Allow to dry.
Hang your mirror on the wall and enjoy!
You could decorate your mirror or picture frame with buttons, shell beads, feathers, sequins, acrylic craft jewels or fabric flowers.
Boys could use plastic frogs, lizards or dinosaurs, nuts and bolts, or small pinecones, nuts and acorns.
Think of your own ideas.
Another Great Idea...
If you screw a box like this or a small basket to the wall just under the mirror, your kids will enjoy brushing their hair and keeping themselves looking tidy!
