Make a Collage Person

Make a collage person with attitude! Use this picture as your starting point and invent your own original collage characters. The collage above was designed and made by a 7-year-old.

You'll Need

  • Thin card

  • White glue

  • Colored corrugated card

  • Wool

  • Scissors

  • Fine felt pen

  • A chenille stick or pipecleaner

    What to Do

    1. Draw a round head, long body and legs with feet on the thin card. Cut out.

    2. Cut the dress from corrugated card and glue it on.

    3. Glue pipecleaner arms onto the back of the body as in the picture.

    4. Tie some wool into a small bunch for hair and glue it in place. Draw on a face. Give it character!

    5. Make a paper flower to glue into her hand. Your collage person is complete.


    Now make some different characters. A pirate? A firefighter? A ballerina? A prince or princess? A viking warrior?

    You could make a greeting card from your person, or use lots of collage people to make a poster or mobile.
