Here's a bright and colourful craft idea for kids to try. It's simple but looks so effective.
What you'll need:
Art canvas about 20 x 20cm
Acrylic paint in light blue and bright green
Self-adhesive craft dasies with jewel centres
Shiny plastic butterfly jewels
White craft glue
What to do:
Cover your work surface with newspaper. First paint a big sky. Paint the canvas all over with light blue paint. Don't forget to paint the edges too. Let it dry.
Paint lots of flower stems. Make vertical lines in green paint. The tallest should start about one third of the way up from the bottom of the canvas. Others should be shorter. They should all go right down to the bottom. Let the canvas dry.
Now stick lots of self-adhesive daisies onto the tops of the stems.
Glue butterflies onto the sky above the flowers. A few could be sitting on flowers.
Hang your butterfly picture on the wall
You could think of your own designs. Try a different background for the butterflies - perhaps a tree.
Perhaps you could write your initials in butterflies across your painted sky!
Make your own paper butterflies and flowers for this project.
