Fall / Autumn Crafts for Kids
Using Leaves

Try these autumn crafts for kids. Collect lots of coloured autumn or fall leaves.

Sparkly Leaf Decorations

fall leaves - sparkly

These are simple to make, even for tiny children.
(Suitable for age 3 and up)

What you'll need:

  • Autumn leaves. Choose large, brightly coloured ones with stems if possible
  • Silver glitter glue (clear water-based glue containing silver glitter).
  • Silver ribbon
  • Paintbrush
    1. Spread newspaper on the table and lay the leaves on it.
    2. Paint the leaves with silver glitter-glue. Leave to dry.
    3. Tie the leaves in bunches of 3 or 4, using the silver ribbon. Hang them up to decorate the room.

Try making an autumn wreath for your door by gluing overlapping bunches of glittery leaves onto a styrofoam ring using a hot glue gun. You'll need to use lots of leaves so that the styrofoam doesn't show through. (An adult should use the glue gun.)

What else could you paint with glitter glue? Horse chesnuts? Seeds? Twisted willow twigs?

Try making Horse Chestnut Creatures to decorate your house in autumn / fall.
